Great musical protest this afternoon outside ExCeL as we start to build our campaign against the arms fair in September.
So good to be joined by the mayor of Newham Rokhsana Fiaz and the local MP Lyn Brownh and Local London Assembly member Unmesh Desai and lots of local councillors
Local filmaker Chester Yang was on hand to talk to them and make this video with singing and playing from The Big Red Band
The afternoon went really well with lots of people singing along and visiting our stall.
The ExCeL security were not as helpfull as in previous protests by ELAAF (East London Against the Arms Fair).
They insisited we stay behind a barrier erected in a corner away from the main walkway, rather than the usual spot under cover in the walkway to the DLR.
They also refused to let us hand out leaflets, saying that we would be ejected if we did and that people had to come to us and ask for leaflets
Luckily the weather held, and it wasnt too cold, and a good time was had by all.
